Green Party of Suffolk Endorses Long Island Equality March & LGBTIQA Pride Picnic

In keeping with our commitments to diversity, social justice, and equality, The Green Party of Suffolk (GPoS) is endorsing the LI Equality March & LGBTIQA Pride Picnic.  This is a yearly Suffolk County event which highlights the ongoing work to secure full social, political and legal equality for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Queer/Questioning and Asexual-spectrum people.  The Pride Picnic allows LGBTIQA individuals and supporters to gather for a day of community, pride, diversity, and early summer fun.

The event is organized by the Transgender Resource Center of Long Island (TRC-LI) and will be held on Sunday, June 2nd, 2019 in Sayville.  People may gather at the Long Island Rail Road parking lot, located at Depot St. and Green Avenue, across from the Sayville train station, starting at 11:30 a.m.  Marchers will line up at 12:30 p.m., and marching will commence at 1 p.m.  The march will go through part of downtown Sayville and will end at Rotary Park.  After the march, the Pride Picnic will begin.

The GPoS will be able to participate as a group in the march.  Interested Greens may contact Cynthya BrianKate at thesacredsideshow@gmail.com.
