Longtime Green James Skidmore seeks candidacy for Village Trustee in Patchogue

James Skidmore, a longtime Green, has many years of experience and proven success in the Village of Patchogue. He is now taking it to the next level.  We are excited and honored to support his campaign as a candidate for Trustee in the Village of Patchogue!  Below is a statement from James regarding his vision.

To become a candidate, I needed to collect a minimum of 100 signatures for my petition. I have done so, and am now on the ballot!
If you’re looking for some change that gives respect to the past and offers New Vision for the future, please support my campaign.
I am taking this time to talk to people one on one. Your input will help to shape my campaign.
The betterment of the Village of Patchogue for now and for its future are the main goals of my campaign. I believe in our community, and I believe we can collectively create a space that gives respect for the present and offers a foundation for the generations that follow.

The residents need a proper voice in our local government, and the businesses must have the tools needed to succeed and to sustain the health of the business community. This is not a challenge to the efforts of our present administration. It is though an effort to ensure the process of democracy and to encourage participation. With this participation, we foster connectivity and strengthen the bonds of our community.

A vote for James Skidmore is a vote for change and change is evolution.

Huntington Town Representative for the Green Party of Suffolk County is Running for Congress in District 2

Meet Harry R. Burger. Harry is a longtime Green who is running for Congress in the 2nd Congressional District of New York. Harry is truly independent, because he and the Green Party accept $0 from corporations and Super PACs. His campaign is funded 100% by the people. His first priority will always be what’s best for the People of the United States, especially the 2nd Congressional District of New York. Harry has lived in New York State for his entire life; four years upstate for college, and the rest on Long Island. The oldest of four brothers, he is the only one who didn’t move away after college. The high cost of living hasn’t made it easy, but this is his home. Harry does his share in his community. He volunteers with Suffolk County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). You may also find Harry cleaning up the trash on the side of the road while walking in his district. His hope? Maybe, if people see someone cleaning it up, they’ll think twice before just tossing the next thing out of the window.
A mechanical design engineer by profession, you may wonder why Harry is venturing into running for office. He is no stranger to politics. Harry has been a Town Rep on the Green Party of Suffolk County’s Coordinating Committee for many years. By working for and with his community, he has come to realize “if it is to be, then it’s up to me.” Boy Scouts were a tremendous influence on Harry’s character and values. He wrote his first letter to his Congressman for a Scout badge, and later, wrote an article to teach people how to improve upon the process. Foreshadowing? Harry has always led by example, and will continue to do so during his congressional campaign. To learn more about Harry, the policies and issues that he seeks to improve upon, and to support his campaign, please visit burger4congress.com.

**Thank you Harry for running a terrific campaign, and for all of your hard and important work!!

Green Barbara Wagner is running for State Senate in District 5

Barbara’s platforms:

A Sustainable Environment
Sustainability is critical to our communities. Let’s focus on long-term goals that benefit all of us. Global warming is real, let’s trust science and cut down on fossil fuel and carbon consumption. Future generations depend on it.

Every year more and more pesticides enter Long Island Sound, affecting the water we drink and swim in, and the food we eat. We CAN clean it up — we have no other choice, we just need a plan.

A Harmonious, United World

I believe in a world that embraces diversity and love, non-violence and equal opportunity — allowing all to seek the American dream.

Change for the Better
We live in a time of unprecedented change.  Change is not something to fear — let’s embrace change, to listen to a more diverse array of voices.  Let’s seek to embrace that change for positive results.

United we stand, divided we fall.

**Thank you Barbara for running a terrific campaign, and for all of your hard and important work!!
