Beth Schettino is running for, Huntington Town Council to represent the Green Party and work for meaningful, progressive change.
Beth graduated Summa Cum Laude from CUNY Queens College with a B.A. in education and a passion for social justice. She has been a public high school teacher on Long Island and an active representative in her local union for the 17 past years. Elected to the position of head building rep for her local union, she served its members in that capacity for 2 years and remains an active union representative to this date. Additionally, Beth is an Adjunct Professor at her alma mater, CUNY Queens College, in the teacher education program.
Her actions as a member of the Huntington Town Council will directly reflect the progressive ideals that define the Green Party and inform its core values. This includes fighting for the Green platform, engaging the Green voter to best represent the unique concerns of Huntington constituents, and upholding the autonomy of the Green Party and its rules that explicitly allow only Greens, independent candidates not enrolled in any party, or other independent parties that share policy goals and political independence from the corporate parties, on their ballot line.
